Hello dear Inklings,
Today, I have a mid-week bonus for you.
I recently wrote this piece for the Royal Literary Fund (RLF). I just found out that it’s one of the most read articles across their Substack and website. So, I’m sharing it with you because I know resilience is something we all need. Go give it a read and click that little heart button. ❤️
There are several things I take from this…
Writers are always interested in building resilience
It’s rarely the writing that I expect to resonate that actually does (so stop trying so hard and just put stuff out there)
Readers of the Royal Literary Fund have very good taste 😉
Seriously though, the RLF have an immense, rich archive of written, audio and visual resources for writers at all stages. I know because I’m an RLF Fellow and for three years I was editor of their series of essays, Collected, during which time I worked with some of the best writers in the UK. I learned so much from them. And that’s before we get to the incredible work the organisation does supporting writers and others in education. If you write, I recommend exploring.
